Florence Ave Garden Project

  • 10 Steps

About

The Florence Ave Garden Project is a vibrant community initiative rooted in Southside Oroville, designed to transform underutilized space into a flourishing hub for wellness, education, and connection. More than just a garden, this project is a healing space where neighbors grow food, grow together, and grow possibilities. Through culturally relevant gardening practices, youth mentorship, and hands-on learning, the project fosters environmental awareness, food sovereignty, and intergenerational collaboration. Raised beds, pollinator plants, and community art installations create a welcoming environment where residents—especially BIPOC families, elders, and youth—can reclaim their relationship to land, health, and one another. The Florence Ave Garden Project is not only restoring green space; it is restoring hope. It is a symbol of what’s possible when a community sows into itself—rooted in resilience.
